From Struggles to Solutions: My Personal Health Journey
Discover how a relentless search for answers revolutionized my understanding of gut health and why the SmartGut Quiz might be the tool you've been searching for.
Ever been on a medical rollercoaster? Well, let me share my ticket to this wild ride.
My 20s were like a game show of "Guess that Diagnosis!" I was tagged with everything from a fungal infection to psoriasis. Five different doctors, five different stories.
One night, tucked under my duvet and fueled by curiosity (and maybe some caffeine), I stumbled upon something called Dermatitis Herpetiformis. A big name that linked my issues to celiac disease.
Initially, I thought munching on "healthy bread" was playing it safe. Spoiler: It wasn’t. But after a few food missteps and a lot of learning, I finally unlocked the mystery: I had the genes for celiac along with a food intolerance to wheat, dairy, and egg whites.
A smoked meat sandwich from the world-famous Schwartz Deli in Montreal, Canada.
My journey started with dietary changes, then came the supplements and the microbiome testing.
My sinus issues disappeared, my psoriasis is now non-existent and I no longer get chronic staph infections that require antibiotic treatment.
With all my ups and downs, I felt driven to help others dodge the medical mayhem. I realised that so many people had a similar story to mine and that's how Humanli Wellness came to life. It's my brainchild, an online hub dedicated to those seeking a more holistic health journey.
It’s for people who share my belief that the body always wants to heal, we just have to provide the right environment/input.
If my tale feels a tad too familiar, remember: you're not alone. We all have our health narratives and I’d love to know yours.

In the meantime, here are some interesting facts on resistance training:
Spending 30-60 minutes a week on strength exercises can cut down overall mortality rates by 10–17%.
Those who engage in strength workouts clock in an additional 40 minutes of sleep/night, compared to the 23 minutes added by aerobic enthusiasts.
Resistance training (regardless of strength gains) diminishes depression and anxiety in adults while delaying the onset of Alzheimer’s.
Have a great week!
Marko
